The Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) is organising a special seminar on corrosion
management in Melbourne in March 2015. The ACA organises a number of seminars
and training courses throughout the year to inform and guide organisations and
practitioners about ways to combat corrosion.
Described as the
naturally occurring deterioration of a material or its properties following a
reaction with the environment, corrosion has dangerous consequences, causing expensive
damage to many types of structures including pipelines, bridges, buildings, and
water and wastewater systems. According to a recent estimate, corrosion costs
the Australian economy between 3 and 5 per cent of GDP each year.
The upcoming seminar
titled ‘Corrosion Management in the Water and Wastewater Industry’ will be held
at the Marriott Hotel in Melbourne, Australia on 26 March, 2015.
A not-for-profit
membership association, ACA provides training, seminars, conferences,
publications and other activities to disseminate information about corrosion
and its prevention or control.
