Signal wiring in confined spaces

Phoenix Contact has introduced a
new range of knife disconnect terminal blocks featuring push-in connection
technology with 3.5mm pitch for conductors up to 1.5mm², which can help achieve
high signal density.

The new knife disconnect
terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact can help save up to 30% space in the
control cabinet. The PT 1.5/S-MT modular terminal block range includes two,
three, and four-conductor terminal blocks as well as double-level versions.
Feed-through terminal blocks of the same shape complete the range.

Key features of Phoenix Contact’s
new knife disconnect terminal blocks include a 2.3mm test connection at every
contact point allowing measuring devices to be conveniently looped into the
circuit; double function shaft enabling individual and time-saving potential
distribution with the aid of jumpers; disconnect knives and actuation levers of
the same colour ensuring clear assignment of the connection levels when dealing
with double-level terminal blocks; and large-surface marking options providing
a clear view for wiring and maintenance work.

The knife disconnect terminal
blocks use the system accessories for the Clipline complete modular terminal
block system. Conductors are wired directly without any tools using push-in
connection technology. Insertion and contacting are simplified thanks to up to
50% lower insertion forces while high contact forces exceeding those required
by relevant standards ensure reliable and high-quality conductor contacting.
The conductors are released using a new type of button, which can be actuated
using various tools.
